Olivier RIVIERE, pianist, percussionnist, chambrist

Born in 1979, Olivier RIVER discovers the piano, the musical theory and the percussions with 8 years old in the music school of his birthplace.

Originating of "Reunion's Island", he enter to the Reunion's Academy in 1990 when it will make its initial musical formation in the classes of B.Rakotondrainy (piano) and Sophie Gallet (percussions) where it obtains a certificate of end of studies in musical formation.

In 1997, after general studies directed towards the study of the music, it continues its formation with the Academy of Turns in the classes of Keiko ABE, Chantal BOULAY, Jean Marc COCHEREAU, Xavier Richard, Marc Maïer, Murielle Stip, Anne Aubert. It is distinguished by obtaining a First Price in musical Formation, a First Price in Piano, a First Price in Chamber music, a Certificate of End of studies in Accompaniment and follows a complete course of end of studies in Percussions, Ecriture and Harmony.

In parallel it starts an academic cycle musicologic at the University François Rabelais. It looks further into its knowledge in jazz, ethnomusicology, salsa, direction of chorus and obtains a Diploma of Academic works General of Musicology then in 2001 a Licence of Music and Musicologie, mention teaching.

Directing itself then towards pedagogy, it enters in the Center of Higher learning Music and Dance Poitou-Charentes where it follows the courses of Marc Maïer and Marie Brigitte Madinier and is distinguished by obtaining two Diplomas from State d' Enseignement in Piano and Musical Formation and an University degree from musical pedagogy in 2005.

Olivier RIVER improves in contact with Pierre Yves Jalicon, Brenno Ambrosini, Roger Muraro, Anne Quéffelec at the time of masters class in France and Italy.

Since it shares its passion between the concerts in France, as a soloist, guide, chambrist and the teaching of the musical formation initially to the Departmental Academy of Orleans and thereafter with the Academy Inter-commune of Music of Charente (France) or while intervening in training courses of summer.

Its activities of musician lead it to occur and record in eclectic repertories: traditional, salsa, jazz and in various formations: duets two pianos and piano flute, Orchestras of salsa, Symphony orchestras.
